Double Bay's Latest "In Convo" Series Kicks Off with Style at InterContinental

The Bay Street Initiative launched its highly anticipated "In Conversation with" series last week, drawing a full house to The Bar at InterContinental Double Bay. The inaugural event, featuring celebrated hairstylist Joh Bailey, marked the beginning of what promises to be one of Sydney's most sought-after networking and social calendar fixtures.

Hosted by media personality Melissa Hoyer, the sophisticated high tea event saw over 100 local professionals and industry leaders gather for an intimate afternoon of candid conversation and networking. Bailey shared insights from his decades-long career styling Australia's elite, peppered with entertaining anecdotes that kept the audience engaged throughout the two-hour session.

"The response has been overwhelming," said a spokesperson for The Bay Street Initiative. "We knew there was appetite for meaningful daytime events that combine networking with genuine conversation, but the sold-out attendance exceeded our expectations."

The series, which runs monthly at the InterContinental, pairs thought-provoking dialogue with a luxury high tea experience, complete with champagne and gourmet offerings. The format proved particularly popular with professionals seeking quality networking opportunities during business hours.

Looking ahead, the series has already confirmed an impressive lineup of guests, including radio queen Jackie O, fashion entrepreneur Pip Edwards, and culinary icon Neil Perry. Each session promises to offer unique perspectives from different sectors of Australian business and entertainment.

"What sets this series apart is its intimacy," noted one attendee. "Despite the high-profile nature of the guests, the setting allows for genuine interaction and conversation, rather than just a typical speaking engagement."

The success of the inaugural event has led to increased demand for future sessions, with organizers encouraging early bookings to secure places. The next installation of the series is scheduled for next month, maintaining the popular 12:30-2:30 pm timeslot that has proved ideal for the Double Bay business community.
